Maarja Meitern has graduated Public Policy Studies at Maastricht University (NL) and she holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Universitat de Barcelona (ES).
After her studies she completed a traineeship at the European Commission and worked as a research assistant at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. In her previous position, one of her many tasks was to inform the European computer scientists’ community about the EU’s innovation and digital policy and conduct research in other relevant topics, such as in the field of cybersecurity.
Apart from Maarja’s profound interest in digital and innovation policy she enjoys practicing sports, such as running, swimming and she also sings in a local choir.
Maarja is fluent in English, Estonian, and Spanish. In addition, she has a very good knowledge of German and Catalan and basic knowledge of French, Russian and Finnish.
