Ricardo Del Valle

Ricardo Del Valle joined Bax & Company in January 2018. Later that year, he also became the coordinator of the European Lightweight Cluster Alliance (ELCA).

After completing his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering in 2011 (Universitat de Barcelona), he started working in a research centre specialised in the design and optimisation of processes and materials. There he was involved in different stages of varied R&D projects from public and private funding that were applied to the industry. His involvement included planning, organising, executing and conducting the different activities of the multi-disciplinary R&D projects performed. 

During this time, he completed his M. Sc. in Energy Engineering in 2013 (Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya) and later defended his PhD dissertation over Materials Science & Engineering in February 2016 (Universitat de Barcelona). During this period he had the chance of conducting research in Spain and France and published more than 20 scientific articles.

After his PhD, he joined the R&D department of a metallurgical company specialised in steel and speciality alloys where he participated in the development of materials and technology before joining Bax & Company. 

Besides his great interest in materials and chemistry, Ricardo is a  fan of horror movies and historical novels. He loves outdoor sports such as skiing and biking as well as travelling. He speaks Spanish, English and Catalan fluently and has an intermediate knowledge of French.
