Sofia joined Bax & Company as a consultant in July 2018. Her interests span in a variety of topics related to sustainable development, climate change adaptation and mitigation, citizens and infrastructure resilience, and circular economy.
She has seven years of experience in various interdisciplinary roles, working in four different countries (Greece, Scotland, US and Spain). During these roles she gained extensive experience in EU funded programs and projects like Interreg, FP7 and H2020. In the past three years, she was immersed into innovative technologies and digitization of cities and processes, and worked in projects for Smart Cities, Citizens Science, IoT Interoperability, eHealth and Robotics.
Sofia holds a Masters in Cities and Sustainability which is an Erasmus Mundus Joint European Master delivered by the University of Aalborg, the University of Aveiro and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. During her studies, she was a Visiting Scholar in the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law in Columbia Law School where she researched the climate change resilience and adaptation of urban infrastructures. She is also graduated of the University of Edinburgh holding a Masters in Environment and International Development.
In her free time, she likes to dance lindy hop, discover new coffee places in the city, go to festivals, hiking and do some scuba diving.
Sofia speaks Greek, English and Spanish and plans to expand her communication skills in Catalan.. very soon!
