Judith Schuermans joined Bax & Company’s Data & Smart Cities team in July 2016. As an open innovation consultant and project manager, Judith represents Bax & Company at the intersection of business, government, and technology in data innovation.
Her current projects include:
- – supporting local governments revolutionise public services through open data;
- – enabling SMEs across sectors and countries to benefit from blockchain technologies and data-driven innovation to develop and improve products and services;
- – ensuring that local and regional governments are engaging the market as effectively as possible, using a challenge-driven approach;
- – fostering and promoting regional SME competitiveness in the data economy.
With a degree in Science and Technology Studies from Maastricht University (NL), she completed her specialisation in Innovation Management at the Autonomous University of Madrid, within the broader framework of the European Inter-University Association on Society Science and Technology (ESST). Between her studies, she successfully completed a traineeship in the stakeholder department at the Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre (MUAC), which is an international non-profit air navigation service provider, operated by EUROCONTROL. Working with state-of-the-art technology in the field of aviation triggered her interest to continue working in the field of innovation and technology.
Outside work, she enjoys watching sci-fi movies, travelling and reading books. Judith speaks fluent Dutch and English, as well as Spanish and a notion of French.
