Laszlo Bax

Founding partner of Bax & Company, Laszlo graduated as an Industrial Design engineer (MSc) in 1991 at the Delft University of Technology. He worked for some 10 years as consultant, later partner in Willems & van den Wildenberg, a new business development strategy consultancy based in The Hague, The Netherlands. In 2002 he set up the Barcelona based innovation consultancy firm now known as Bax & Company.

He has worked for over 50 leading industries in Europe of all sizes (ranging from 1-person high tech start-up in surface hardening up to 80 billion annual turnover FMCG corporates). He has developed and managed more than 30 collaborative R&D / Open Innovation / joint market development initiatives mobilizing more than 100 million euros in future-growth investments. As an innovation management and science-to-market generalist, Laszlo’s experience developed across many sectors; lately most assignments concern smart mobility, advanced materials or health tech. From time to time, Laszlo also partners with cutting edge scientists to create university spin-off companies; the most recent example is Braingaze which uses AI to revolutionise mental healthcare and consumer insights. Other tech ventures he co-founded either failed miserably or were acquired for undisclosed sums.

Laszlo regularly contributes to C-level reflections on how innovation can best be organised, structured and measured as a manageable part of business. His multi faceted experience working for large high tech corporates as well as public entities, universities, start-ups and investors enables him to bridge these different worlds and provide insights from a variety of perspectives.
Laszlo speaks Dutch, English and Spanish fluently, and understands most spoken and written German, French and Catalan.
