Project Consultant in Future Mobility and Logistics Planning
The company

Bax is a strategy consultancy specialised in sustainable innovation management. We support clients across Europe in transforming science and technology into real value. We work for and with various types of innovation actors, including public authorities, industry (large corporations, high-tech smaller companies), academia (universities, RTOs), as well as civic society. We support our clients by combining our knowledge, experience, methodologies, and networks with a powerful drive to turn vision into tangible strategies and projects in the complex world of partnering, emerging technologies, new market opportunities, and shifting policy frameworks.

We are specialised in different high-tech areas related to global societal challenges allowing us to accompany our clients at the more strategic level. Within those focused areas, we deliver a broad portfolio of consulting services spanning all stages of the innovation lifecycle, from mobilizing resources to develop (collaborative) R&D activities, to supporting the commercialization of innovative solutions and assessing their impact.

The position

We are currently offering one position as a mid-/senior level project consultant with quantitative skills for our team working on Mobility and Logistics Planning. You will be working at our Barcelona headquarters with fellow team members taking responsibility for the execution and management of consultancy assignments. You will be active in 2-3 small teams for several clients in parallel.

Your main tasks will be related to the services we deliver, potentially including:

  • Conceptualisation and implementation of international R&D initiatives (projects, networks), often supported under EC innovation programmes (typically Horizon Europe and Interreg)
  • Assessment of economic, environmental and societal impact of innovative pilots, defining future scenarios and applying different methodologies for data collection and analysis
  • Business modelling and definition of exploitation strategies to support the implementation of new solutions and services.
The candidates we are seeking

We seek fast-learning candidates who have an affinity with technology, business, and innovation and a strong ambition for fast professional growth in a small and highly-specialised consultancy firm.

  • Background and profile: a MSc in Civil/Industrial engineering or dedicated postgraduate education on a relevant topic: transport economics, data analysis & mobility.  We look for profiles reflecting specific interest in the mix between business, technology and sustainability, ideally with experience in communication and facilitation.

  • Relevant experience and additional expertise: we seek candidates with a baseline of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in the domain of Mobility; it will be a strong plus for candidates proving experience either in strategy consultancy or other innovation positions.

  • Languages: fluent English, both written and oral, is essential (almost all of our assignments are performed in English). Additionally, we value fluency in our clients’ native languages such as Spanish, Dutch, German or French.
  • Writing skills: good writing skills are essential; we need you to enjoy and be good at creating convincing argumentations, easily translating complex technical concepts into clear and compelling business language.
  • Soft skills & facilitation: we expect a great deal of autonomy and pro-activity, being able to communicate professionally with partners and clients, managing and leading discussions and public presentations.

  • Availability to travel: Please note that your activities will include occasional meetings at different client locations around Europe. Therefore, you should be fully available to travel a few times per year for a couple of days.
