Previous work experience: With a strong background in healthcare research, I have brought my expertise in project development to the innovation sector to ensure that novel research advances and becomes available to patients.

During my PhD, I had the opportunity to work with various research institutes and SMEs, where I developed a deep understanding of the internal workings of collaborative research between academic centres and private institutions. I participated in a range of projects, from testing small molecules and taking them to clinical trials, to concept development for medical devices, and conducting research on ageing and degenerative diseases using cellular and murine models.

After completing my research, I transitioned into project management and scientific coordination at the IGTP Research Institute. During this time, I focused on advising other researchers on project design, securing funding for both basic and translational research, and developing publication strategies in Q1 research journals.

At the weekend: I’m trying out new restaurants in my neighbourhood or at the beach, reading.

An idea that powers me: Conceptualising projects from the beginning and following them through their lifespan, providing insights and helping bring advancements in the healthcare sector to the public. As well, I am passionate about working with SMEs to bring advanced therapies and other products to patients, overcoming the valley of death in healthcare innovation.
