Lorena Axinte

Lorena joined Bax & Company at the beginning of 2021 as a Future Mobility Consultant.

Passionate about active travelling and human-centred urban planning, Lorena is continuously seeking approaches that encourage people to abandon their cars and switch to transport means that can make them, and the planet, healthier.

Having previously worked as a research fellow in the SUSPLACE Marie Curie Innovative Training Network, Lorena holds a PhD in Geography and Planning from Cardiff University. Her work in Wales has focused on the development of the Cardiff Capital Region and its integrated transport system, with a particular emphasis on youth engagement through creative methods. Her previous academic formation in the 4Cities Master in Urban Studies has given her a chance to live and study in four European capitals and has turned her into a digital nomad.

Lorena has a passion for science communication and is involved in various initiatives that translate research into engaging and accessible stories, such as the children`s book Once Upon the Future: Everyday Adventures that Change the World. In her spare time, she loves to cycle, walk and explore cities.

She is fluent in English and Romanian, speaks Spanish and French, and is currently grappling with learning Hungarian.
