BATTERIES

Batteries are revolutionising the fields of energy and transport, two sectors that contribute to over 50% of EU’s CO2 emissions. By enabling the transition to renewable electricity and electrification of transport, battery technologies help mitigate climate change, decrease dependence on fossil fuels and reduce air pollution in urban areas. This revolution comes with multiple challenges and opportunities in the rapidly evolving battery value chain. From sourcing of materials and production of battery cells, up to the end of (first) life, 2nd use and recycling of batteries, many technical, regulatory and social issues still need to be overcome.

We combine our knowledge on advanced materials, processing technologies, and circularity with market insights, to support our clients in developing new battery technologies, implementing practices to treat batteries at the end of their first useful life, and navigating the complex policy frameworks.
